Good

My Favorite picture that I have taken in the last little while. I am finding a new love for digital photography that I never thought that I would get. I was a tangleable film to the end of time person... Guess for me it is the ability to switch from color to Black and White I love so much. How I do love Black and White photos!

What a beautiful capture, the moment is just right and the composition perfectly complements the mood.
I struggle with people looking at the lens, I'm not fast enough on the draw and not patient enough to wait for them to become accustomed to my presense, definitely something I need to improve on as I long to create shots like this.

It is helpful that my nephew was watching tv at the time and not at all paying attention to me. Plus I am camra happy. Take every picture when I can!

Jonny there doesn't seem to like to take pictures like you and me. He seemed so surprised when I took 900 photos at a 4 hour and 40 min reception. That is the wonder of digital photography. Remember Jono, just take more pictures, and more are likely to turn out. :P

Wonderful photo by the way. What method do you use to convert to B&W?

What can I say? No matter how many times I pick up my camera, I can't get past the feeling that I should still try and be economical with my shots. Quality over quantity (though the latter has only begun to develop very recently). The quality of my shots when I did take alot always seemed to be less (even the 'winners').

I know that I miss some shots because of a conservative approach, but I can look through the ones that I do take and remember my motivation, intention, and plan behind each shutter actuation. The machine gunner and the sniper will never fully understand each other.

I always find my first one in the so called machine gun approach is never the best one. I find that It is somewhere in the middle that I find the best.

I have been playing around with the B&W option on my camra. So, no conversion is nessasry. But I do only have a small pocket size run of the mill camra. I am a beginner in the world of photography still trying to learn the ropes. Liking the results. Makes me want to invest in something better. Anytimes someone wants to teach me more...I am more then willing to learn!

I owe Melanie Archer a photo excursion sometime, I'd be glad for more people to come along. I don't pretend to know much but I gladly pass on what I do know. Plus I love shooting with others.
You haven't lived until you've stood in a group of DSLR shooters with all of their shutters clicking at full speed (back in September, Ler and I went on a zoo trip with a bunch of photographers that we originally met online).

I'm up for a photo excursion anytime! Count me in! Just let me know!
